The Platinum Award recognizes the Best Integrated Security and Surveillance System of the Year. After 18 months of design and planning, Link Your House installed a state of the art surveillance, entertainment and control system into a massive 26,000 square foot estate. The system lets the homeowners easily monitor activity throughout the large home. Twelve motion-activated surveillance cameras and a 32 zone security system report real time information to the owners’ iPhones as well as a video archive to a hard drive. “Installing a large security system is one thing,” says Nick McCulloch, Link Your House’s founder and president, “but making it easy to monitor and manage for a non-technical homeowner is quite another.” The system is tightly integrated with the home’s communication and entertainment systems as well as automated lighting and 16 zones of climate control. The result is a safe, comfortable and intelligent home that offers piece of mind to the homeowner without unnecessary complexity. Home security is built on technology from Home Automation Inc.

The Gold Award, given to the most creative, technology-based solution in a residential setting, recognizes Link Your House’s “High Tech Project Room.” For this award Link Your House submitted designs and photographs for a totally new type of residential living space called a “Project Room.” This hybrid home office/utility room serves as a central nerve center for a busy, broadband-connected family in North Atlanta. Advanced planning resulted in super-high function, easy operation and clean aesthetics despite an enormous amount of technology behind the scenes. “The client gets full credit for this concept,” says Frank DeFilippis, Link Your House design principal and chief architect. “We simply took the idea and made it real.”
