HAI Ships the Hi-Fi 2 Multi-Room Audio System |

Home Automation, Inc. (HAI) is ending the year with a bang, as well as a new launch. The company just announced that they are now shipping the Hi-Fi 2 by HAI multi-room audio system.
Hi-Fi 2 can play music from your existing devices, as well as any you plan to add in the future. Homeowners can crank a variety of sources at different volume levels simultaneously, or set every zone to play the same thing at the same volume.
The base Hi-Fi 2 system includes eight zones and eight sources. It’s installed with standard Cat5 cable and standard speaker wire. The system can also be expanded to fill up to 16 zones with sound. Audio sources can be locally inputted at the Hi-Fi 2 amplifier or spread out throughout the house, using Remote Input Modules (RIM).
A new feature is the OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) Volume-Source Control (VSC), which can display everything from name to volume to bass, treble and balance. The four hard buttons that you see above are designed to control the volume, source and power selections. Each of these VSCs also act as infrared repeaters. Simply point your source’s remote at the VSC, and it can route the signal back to the original source component through the RIM.
When coupled with HAI’s Music Gateway, the VSC will display metadata, such as artist and sony info. The VSC also supports Unicode, which means that it can be tweaked to show HAI’s supported foreign languages.
The Hi-Fi 2 can pump out 25 watts RMS at 8 Ohms per channel (50 Watts per zone). Four zones have outputs for extra amplification. The Hi-Fi 2 also has its own built-in universal power supply.
The VSC and RIM ship in white, with color change kits available in almond, light almond, black, and ivory.

Klipsch LightSpeaker is the first product to combine energy efficient LED lighting and wireless ambient sound into a single unit that installs like a lightbulb.
Featuring a dimmable LED bulb and full-range speaker, the Klipsch LightSpeaker fits 5- and 6-inch recessed light fixtures, table and floor lamps (with the optional LampKit) with a standard Edison socket. The speaker uses a 20 watt high-performance, low-distortion digital amplifier to deliver energy efficient sound. Furthermore, the LightSpeaker’s 2.5-inch wide dispersion driver uses digital signal processing to optimize high- and low-frequency output for a full spectrum of sound.
The Klipsch LightSpeaker relies on a standalone transmitter to deliver music wirelessly. A music source, such as a laptop, iPod or CD player, connects to the transmitter and it wirelessly sends the sound to the LightSpeaker. The transmitter’s 2.4GHz wireless technology accommodates up to eight LightSpeakers, equaling stereo sound in multiple rooms. You can connect two music sources to the transmitter, as well as establish two separate listening zones. The transmitter or remote will control the sources, zones, lighting levels and volume.

The official launch of Elios begins with the introduction of 19 unique models. Developed from the ground up in direct response to the ever-evolving needs of today's homeowners and with input from custom electronics Contractors, Elios incorporates never before used technologies and one-of-a-kind mechanical designs into its entire line of speakers. In addition, each Elios speaker is voiced in multiple real life-listening environments and installations.
An industry first and foremost among the array of Elios innovations is its new hybrid tweeter design that bonds a Titanium / Aluminum nano coating to a Teteron dome substrate. Utilized in the line's upper end models, this innovation delivers the high frequencies, precision, speed and transient response of metal tweeters yet retains the desirable smooth and silky sound of soft dome tweeters resulting in a best-of-both-worlds solution.
Additionally, Elios speakers use higher power-handling components for their crossover networks than most other brands. Utilizing a completely integrated approach to crossover design, combined with optimization software and extensive listening, ELAN's Elios cinema line catapults speakers to the next level with the use of high-quality inductors and polypropylene capacitors. Also unique to Elios is a completely new and improved and state-of-the-art drywall leg clamping system, which will provide Installers with the fastest, easiest, most reliable and trouble-free installation of any speakers on the market today. Made of virtually indestructible plastics, each clamping leg rests atop its own "leg tower" which ensures a quick release every time. Running through the clamping leg is a specially designed heavy-duty screw, capped with an acorn nut for the protection of the Installer and to prevent accidental disengagement. Additionally, the base of each clamping leg is considerably wider than traditional legs, providing increased surface area for a more secure fit against the inside of walls and ceilings without causing the drywall to crumble. Elios' unique baffle and frame designs ensure that grilles will always go on easily and always stay in place. In addition, ELAN took special care in selecting the right plastic for the line's bezels to allow for a wide range of paints to properly adhere to it including eco-friendly, water based enamel paints.
Elios speakers have many other industry-leading features. Three different in-ceiling baffle designs including both pivoting and rotating baffles allows the Installer to easily and precisely direct sound into the listening area, resulting in greatly enhanced stereo imaging regardless of speaker placement or room dimensions. All Elios speakers have been custom engineered with larger woofer motors and magnets specifically designed for in-wall/in-ceiling applications.

 | The VM1 Video Matrix works with a multiroom audio system to distribute component video. It routes video signals to VMR1 receivers in as many as eight zones, each using a single CAT-5e cable. Active video circuitry prevents signal loss and interference in cable lengths up to 300 feet.
Capable of handling high-definition component video signals, the VM1 was designed for use with Russound RNET® multiroom solutions. It provides seamless integration with Russound CAM, CAV, and CAA66 multiroom systems and works with other distributed audio systems using RS-232 serial control. Designed with the future in mind, the VM1 is able to support 1080p resolution in the analog component video format if such content becomes available.
The VM1 is available with optional upconverters for converting composite and S-video signals to component video.
